How It Began
This all started as a collaborative effort of organizations who care for the well-being of children across the country.
In 2021, a group of foster care organizations convened to explore potential collaborative strategies. Through these discussions, a big idea materialized with the objective to support child welfare offices nationwide. In 2022, the inaugural National Hospitality Week was launched.
Scheduled in October to align with National First Responders Day, National Hospitality Week was a collaborative effort among dozens of organizations across the U.S. that was coordinated by The Contingent and Congregations for Kids. The initiative facilitated collaboration involving 20 organizations and orchestrated hospitality events for child welfare professionals across 18 states. The first-ever National Hospitality Week demonstrated the impact that community-driven, diverse collaboration can have on local child welfare.
Now, Care For Caseworkers is an ongoing effort, facilitated by Promise686, to strengthen child welfare staff because we believe this support can improve retention among frontline workers, which directly impacts the stability and permanency of the children they serve.
To mobilize church involvement across the U.S., the We See You campaign continues to highlight a key week in October as a season of focused appreciation of those who care for children as caseworkers and child welfare staff.
With the help of a generous donation, we are excited to be reinvigorating the We See You campaign to encourage child welfare professionals this October!
